Why is it that big countries don't want to give what they have to the little guy?

I'm angry. I'm angry about poverty, about pollution, about a lack of resources. But, most of all, I'm angry because these problems could have been resolved so DAMN EASILY if the world's biggest countries decided to share what they have. Now, I'm not saying I'm not selfish on occasion, because I am, but there is NO REASON for these guys to not help out. I mean, less than half the world has clean water, and these guys don't even TRY to help.

I know what you're thinking: "But what about the G8"? G8? More like GHate. I'm sorry, but these guys haven't really done much to try and help the world. All they've done is meet up once a year and write meaningless things on pieces of paper for the press. No, if we want change, people have got to stop slacking off and start spreading the word.

As for why the big countries don't want to give, it's simple: greed. They like holding power over the heads of others, they like controlling things. That's why if we continue to rely too much on the government things will never happen. People need to do things on their own: otherwise, it's a right waste. So, band together to give clean water to all. Or do you want to live with the guilt?

Why do we go to school, when at least half of the “vital information” we learn ends up becoming redundant within five years of leaving school?

Ah, school. That joyous place where one learns about life, love, and all the crap that comes with one or the other. But, that’s not what we’re there for. No, we’re there to learn stuff like QUADRATICS and ANALYSIS OF SHAKESPEARE and POLYMERIZATION. Well… the thing is, once you’ve learned about these things, what do you do with them? If you graduate from school, the chances that you’re going to be interested in a career in mathematics is, let’s face it, close to zero, and other careers that are directly correlated with what you learned in high school have similarly low entrance rates.

So, why do we go to school? Why do we enslave ourselves from 6 years old to 18 or beyond? Why do we spend 6 or more hours sitting in desks writing or typing out word after word of endless drivel? Well, I know that your answer would probably be that it’s required by the law, but that’s not a REAL reason, now, is it?

Well, teachers can blather on and on about how useful what they’re teaching us is going to be, but the sad truth is that almost none of it useful. Sure, good grades can get you into a nice college, but once you graduate with your little “Political Science” degree, what are you gonna do with it? No, the reason we actually go to school is a very simple one. In the words of Koji Kumeta, “High school is only a preview of real life”. And, you’ve got to admit, the man was right about that one.

When you go to high school, there are all sorts of different groups and people, one of which you will inevitably end up in… just like real life social classes. You’re judged all the time by demanding slave drivers, and if you don’t do what they ask, or you do it incorrectly, you get punished badly… just like the criminal justice system. The romance you have in high school? It’s nothing compared to the romance you’ll have once you’re out of school, but it does give you an idea how the entire thing is supposed to work.

Anyways, the point is that school is a place to get used to life, or, at least, get a feel for what it’s like. So, remember: if you’re down because of grades, THAT’S NOT WHY YOU’RE IN SCHOOL. You’re in school to learn the rules of life, and how to obey them and get them right. And THAT’S what you learn in school.

… Just a warning. If you spout any of this to your teachers, you are DEFINITELY going to get into trouble. Not probably. Definitely.

And, if you liked this, go ahead and comment. Or share it with your friends. Or dig or Stumble or do the hokey-pokey or whatever it is people do these days. Because I like seeing interest, and I like seeing curious people, and I DEFINITELY like seeing curious people with interest. The email’s piface314@gmail.com. Spam it if you dare, guys. And remember, there’s always room for

Just What the Hell is This Blog Doing Here?

Before I start posting here, before you people begin to trust in me to fill the five minutes of your day that is spent endlessly searching through random blogs in the hopes that even ONE will keep you entertained, you people need to know the truth. This blog... is not going to be entertaining. Or, at least, it isn't meant to be. It won't be about celebrities, about food, about the garden, about any of the usual "popular" blog topics. It will be an honest to the bone series of essays from me about different aspects of life, the universe, and everything.

But before you start reading, you need to know exactly WHO is feeding you this information. Well, all I can tell you is that I was raised in the far reaches of the Orient, far away from the vices of the land that is America. Or... maybe not. You see, the thing is, who I am is all really a matter of perception, the same as anything else on this planet. You see an enemy, I see a friend. You see a pile of slop, I see a tasty dish. You see the greatest romance that has ever been, I see a shiny stalker sneaking into a girls' bedroom to watch her sleep. Ick.

So, all I'm saying is that, in the context of this blog, I'll probably say different things about myself and my life. Take it all with a grain of salt. I may be lying, maybe not. You'll never know.

But, maybe I'm starting on the wrong foot. Maybe... I should establish rules, iron laws, if I may, that need to be kept intact for the sake of order and chaos (which I'll probably be talking about at a later date.)

Rules:
1. Every post will be titled with a question. No exceptions. Some will be serious. Some... not so much.
2. This blog will be updated at least weekly, unless I have a valid excuse for not posting. There may be times, however, when I'm bored enough to post more than once in a week, in which case you guys should rejoice... that is, if you like the blog.
3. If you liked a post I made, go comment. If you didn't, comment. I like hearing what people have to say. Actually, this one's more of a recommendation. Not necessarily a rule, but it would be nice to hear from you, all the same.
4. The question in the topic will ALWAYS be addressed, in one form or another, during the essay.

And, to address our lovely first question, here is the answer for you: it's here because every person needs some sort of outlet. Now, I just got yelled at for speaking informally, without structure or class. So, yes, I'm not happy. And I've found that, now, I need an outlet for all of those odd thoughts and ideas I have about the world, or else I'm going to explode.

Anyways, enjoy what is to come, when it comes. C'est la freakin' vie.
